Dr. Md Shirajul Islam is working as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at NIOH, Dhaka. He is in private practice at Hikmah Specialized Eye Hospital, Khilgaon, Dhaka where he is serving for Cataract /Phaco Surgery, Vitreo-Retina and LASIK Surgery services.

Experiences-
-Practicing cataract /Phaco surgery more than 14 years and did thousands of micro surgery (SICS) and Phaco Surgery.
- Practicing General Ophthalmology more than 16 years.
- Practicing Medical & Surgical Retina more than one year.

Works/Jobs-
Dr. Md. Shirajul Islam Joined Govt Service in 2005. He completed his Fellowship (FCPS) in 2006 & Promoted as Junior Consultant in 2013. Again he promoted as Assistant professor in 2015. Dr. Md. Shirajul Islam did average 500 Cataract Surgery Every months at district Govt. hospital since 2007. As a single surgeon it’s the highest performance in Bangladesh, and He is a ‘swift surgeon’ declared by Government. In 2007, he Started Private Practice in Gopalganj District. After 10 years he Started practice in Hikmah Specialized Eye Hospital from 2016.

Education-
Dr. Md. Shirajul Islam Graduated MBBS form Chittagong Medical College under Chittagong University in 2000. He Completed FCPS (Fellowship) in Ophthalmology from Bangladesh College of Physicians & surgeons in 2006. He had post graduate training on phacoemulsification (Phaco) from Dr. P. N. Mahendra eye Institute, Kanpur, India in 2011, LASIK Surgery from Vietnam in 2013. He also took training in pediatric Cataract training under Pediatric Ophthalmology in NIO&H and Susrut eye foundation, Kolkata, India in 2014. He also completed Micro Surgery (SICS) training from Islamia eye hospital, Dhaka in 2007. Finally he Completed Long term Fellowship on retina at NIO&H, Dhaka in 2017.
